Introduction This course looks at strategic planning
in order to achieve results. It is an ideal introduction to the
process of clearly identifying where the organisation is going,
what the key milestones will be over the course of the journey,
how to identify the critical success factors and measure performance
and progress towards the various goals.
We also look at the inclusion of the team in the planning process,
how to consult and obtain input from them and the importance of
linking individual objectives to the overall aims of the organisation.
Who should attend:
This is an excellent workshop for managers new to the concept of business
and strategy planning, as well as for those who wish to refresh
their skills in this important area. It also provides an ideal way
of enabling an
entire management team or department to start the actual planning
process.
Course outcomes:
The workshop provides a structure and process for looking at
strategy planning and is much a facilitated process in some
circumstances as it is a training course.
If a department or management team have attended, then good progress
should have been made towards identifying and agreeing the "Business
Vision", the refining of this into the "Mission"
for the next twelve months, the identification of milestones to
be achieved and the critical success factors applicable.
Teaching
methods:
There will
be a mixture of theoretical input from the tutor along with
experiential learning and group discussion.
