Introduction Intellectual property rights allow people and organisations to
own and protect creativity and innovation. In some cases this protection
arises automatically and in others registration is required. A further
complication is the differences that arise between different countries
and the fact that registration may be required in with more than
one body.
This course covers the various different types of IP and the protection
that can be applied for. We also look at the different infringements
of rights that can take place and what to do if you think you have
a case.

Managers who wish to gain a basic understanding of IP issues within
their organisation.
Course outcomes:
Delegates will cover the four main areas of Intellectual Property,
i.e. Patents, Trade Marks, Designs and Copyright as well as take
a look at the broader issue of trade secrets. This creates awareness
of situations where professional guidance may be required or allows
decisions to be made that will avoid the common problems.

be a mixture of theoretical input from the tutor along with
experiential learning and group discussion.
