Introduction
A natural follow-on to the Negotiation Skills workshop (or an introduction
to some of the more advanced tactics, techniques and ploys for the
more experienced negotiator), this workshop assumes a basic knowledge
of the process. It concentrates on the subtleties of body language,
verbal signals and using this to your advantage.
Planning a strategy, employing various tactics and techniques and
assessing the balance of power in the negotiation are all discussed
and (sometimes!) demonstrated by the delegates. Delegates having
successfully completed the basic course will find this a natural
progression to a more advanced level.
Who should attend:
More experienced negotiators who wish to refresh their existing
skills and practice some of the finer points of this skill as well
as delegates progressing on from the basic skills course.
Course Outcomes:
A
refresher for the more experienced negotiator in the various
stages of a negotiation, the importance of the conditional offer
and the various roles to be played. Coping with the balance of
power being on the other side, recognising and combating tactics
and developing your own strategy. A basic introduction to the
arts of mediation and conflict resolution.
Teaching
methods:
There will
be a mixture of theoretical input from the tutor along with
role play scenarios and video feedback.
