Introduction

Whether recruiting or appraising, the use of occupational testing gives the manager a tool which aids selection and development of employees. Being able to select the appropriate test and interpret the results is an essential management skill.

Many managers have responsibility for appraising their subordinates performance within a formal appraisal scheme. Many organisations and companies also see their appraisal schemes as fundamental to their success. However, to work properly, good appraisal interview skills and techniques are required.

  • To identify training and development needs through the use of appraisal interviews

Teaching methods:

There will be a mixture of theoretical input from the tutor along with experiential learning, role play and group discussion.
