Introduction
Coaching staff to help them improve their performance and
to enhance their personal development is an essential skill
for effective managers within high performing companies and
organisations. Supporting staff and line managers to problem
solve and deliver, without direct supervision, requires
managers who continually update and improve their own
coaching skills.
This Advanced Coaching Skills course is designed to
support managers who are using a basic coaching model. It
will provide them with additional coaching tools, as well as
providing them with an opportunity to work with fellow
coaching managers and to obtain constructive feedback.
Designed for:
Managers and coaches who have a basic understanding of
the GROW model, who wish to improve upon their coaching
skills. It is designed to follow-on from our one day
Coaching Skills for Managers course.
You will
learn:
- Additional techniques to enhance the GROW model
- Basic NLP concepts that underpin the coaching
process
- How to view a problem from alternative perspectives
- How to phrase your questioning in order to change
the coachees perspective of their problem
- How to develop ‘well formed outcomes’ in order to
enable your coachee to take effective action.
Teaching
methods:
There will
be a mixture of theoretical input from the tutor along with
opportunities for experiential learning, and practice and
discussion in small and large groups.
