Walesby Activity Centre

For several years, Executive Development Ltd has been working with the Walesby Activity Centre to provide an exciting, safe and cost effective venue for corporate team building activities.

The combination of our expertise at developing powerful and relevant training to meet objectives and the expertise of the Walesby specialist instructors has resulted in a unique experience for delegates.

The centre is located in approximately 246 acres of land just off the A614 Doncaster Road north of Nottingham. The location is about 18 miles from Nottingham and is easy to find.

The centre provides facilities for a number of outdoor activities such as rafting, canoeing, rock climbing, river crossings, pioneering, rifle range, archery and other similar exercises. There is also a 25 metre outdoor swimming pool and changing facilities, available for use during the summer season. These are ideal for planning into team and provide an exciting and different experience. We plan each of the events on a bespoke basis, ensuring that corporate objectives and training needs are met.

Although the majority of the events are of one day duration, overnight accommodation is available on site, either camping or dormitory style. The close proximity of the Clumber Park hotel also means that high quality accommodation is close if required. Those delegates who do stay however, seem to prefer the camp fire and the tents (one is reminded of “I’m a Celebrity…..get me out of here!”). As part of the experience, our normal catering is a BBQ exercise in which the delegates have to locate equipment and food and prepare their own lunch.

Every exercise provided by the centre has had a full risk assessment carried out and safety is paramount. We provide copies of these assessments to clients in advance of the event. The centre has many years experience of running these activities and carries full and suitable insurance cover.

It is appreciated that not all delegates have the physical capability or desire to undertake some of the more strenuous types of exercise. Our normal practice is to ask all attendees to complete a medical and preference questionnaire prior to the event. This information is purely used to select appropriate exercises and design the day to ensure that everyone has a suitable role and does not get left out. This information is used in accordance with the data protection act and is destroyed after the event.
